Gladstone's youngest graduate

At 19 years of age, Felicity Frost is CQU Gladstone's youngest graduate.

The Bachelor of Business (Accounting) graduate will attend her graduation ceremony tomorrow (Saturday).

Ms Frost, who started studying in 2002, fast-tracked her degree by taking advantage of additional terms offered over the summer.

“I chose to study over the spring and summer terms which meant I was able to complete 12 subjects a year instead of 8 and finish my degree in two years instead of three.

“The flexibility and small class sizes really helped and made my time at University a bit easier and helped me adapt to the heavier workload and the different styles of teaching,” she said.

Ms Frost, who also worked part-time throughout her studies, said she was now looking to obtain a graduate position in the accounting or finance area.

Her father, Kevin Frost is also a graduate of CQU, accepting his Bachelor of Business (Accounting) with distinction in 2001.

Seventy-eight students will graduate at this year’s ceremony, making this the biggest ever Gladstone ceremony.

CQU Gladstone head of campus Associate Professor Robert Prater said the campus hoped the Gladstone public would get involved in the graduate procession held prior to the ceremony.

“It has become a tradition of ours for the graduates and academic staff to process up the main street from in front of the Gladstone City Council Chambers to the Entertainment Centre and it would be nice to see people lining the route.

“The Cityheart traders will also be holding sales on the day to coincide with the ceremony and CQU will have an information stand located in the 100 Goondoon St plaza,” Associate Professor Prater said.
