From humble beginnings in an office at CQU Rockhampton, the 10,000 Steps program has spread to many other communities and workplaces around Australia.
But now it has achieved one of its biggest coups with a major launch in Brisbane, dramatically boosting the potential audience.
Professor Kerry Mummery, who guided the seminal stages, is proud that the program is now expanding swiftly.
"From a research impact perspective, this is a great achievement for us, having the major population base of Queensland officially launch their own version of our program," he said.
