CQUniversity supports budding business students

CQUniversity was major sponsor of the recent Isis District State High School Australian Business Week (ABW) activities and competition.
Australian Business Week covered the 14-18 September, for year 11 students.
The Emerald Team hard at work8 teams of 10 were formed and each group was in-charge of running and making business decisions for a 200-room virtual hotel/motel. Assessment tasks for the week included making a video ad, preparing a trade display, developing company reports and giving an oral presentation.
Each of the students who participated in ABW received one (1) point towards their QCE.
CQUniversity sponsored the Emerald Team, Shaedelle Woodings, Travis Parks, Luke Wright, Felicity Mungomery-Clark, Tyron Vant Hoenderdaal, Sarah Stewart, Shanna James, Sharn Grimley, Royce Blair & Mitchell Blochliger-Jabs. Mr Andrew Cole, Manual Arts teacher at Isis District SHS supervised their effort.
CQUniversity also provided guest speakers from Bundaberg Campus. Trixie James from Academic Learning Services gave a presentation on report writing and Dr Grayson Cook, Lecturer in Multimedia spoke on making TV advertisements.
Students took notes and commented that they found both of these presentations very useful. Isis District students found the week to be beneficial and great fun, as it gave them hands on experience with ‘real world' responsibilities.
The week finished with a presentation of awards on the Friday evening.
