Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Help Ben, get the shirts and win 

CQU PhD student Ben Kele is inviting ideas to name a new wastewater technology featuring sustainable treatment, volcanic rock filtration (zeolite and scoria), sonic disinfection, decentralised (off-the-grid) locations and water recycling.

Ben is offering a $300 prize for the best name; a 2nd prize of a 'Sewerside' t-shirt. He is also offering a 'Sewerside' t-shirt for the ‘funniest' name that he can't use.

Entrants need to be aware that the winning name/s becomes the property of Midell Water Solutions and will be used for commercial purposes.
