Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

All welcome at workshop on improving interpersonal relationships 

All interested people are welcome to attend a free workshop on 'Preventative Interventions for Improving Interpersonal Relationships', from 1pm-3pm on Tuesday, June 13 at the CQU Rockhampton Harvard Lecture Theatre (bldg 32).

The workshop will be presented by visiting academic Michael Waldo, the Professor and Director of the Counseling and School Psychology Training and Research Centre at New Mexico State University in the United States.

Professor Waldo's CQU host, Dr Alan Keen, said the visiting professor is specialised in group counseling, social/life skills training, marriage, family and child counseling, relationship enhancement, psychopathology and adjustment, academic leadership and leadership training. He has published extensively in the field of counselling psychology.
