NIRAKN will fund the Symposium from funds provided to the Network by the Australian Research Council (ARC).

The event is likely to be held in late September or early October depending on the availability of international keynote speakers.

Professor Bronwyn Fredericks, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Engagement) and BMA Chair in Indigenous Engagement said "this will be an historical event and result in researchers, leaders, Elders and community members coming together to discuss research that is relevant to Indigenous Australians and Indigenous peoples across the world".

"The Office of Indigenous Engagement is excited about working with Professor Aileen Moreton-Robinson, Director of NIRAKN and the NIRAKN team to bring the Symposium to fruition," Prof Fredericks said.
