Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Team sports talk planned 

Planning and Monitoring of Training for Team Sports is the next talk in the Sports Science Series being presented by the School of Health and Human Performance.

The talk will be presented from 7pm on Wednesday May 31 at the CQU Rockhampton building 18/G.40. Entry is by gold coin donation.

Presenter Ben Dascombe completed his human movement science degree in 2001 and currently lectures and tutors in the School while completing his PhD on oxygen kinetics in aging athletes.

Ben was the Rockhampton Brahmans strength and conditioning trainer and has experience in administering athlete and team testing in the laboratory.
