Campus encouraged to support Shave for a Cure

Last year’s shave for a cure was a great success with funds being raised for Leukaemia Foundation education and research.

The three people that chose to “ take it all off “ were Robyn Bailey, Jillian Litster and Scott Aldred.

The Foundation is the only Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the care and cure of patients and families living with blood and bone marrow cancers.

PhotoID:1839 Funds raised from the World's Greatest Shave (WGS) will be used to improve patients' and families' quality of life by providing accommodation at the Foundation's 16 centres across Australia, support services, counselling, educational programs, transport to and from hospital and in some cases, financial assistance. These services are provided to patients and families free of charge.

This is a great opportunity for staff or students to rally together and nominate a representative to “Shave or Dye” their hair in an effort to pledge funds for this worthy cause. Golden Key, the International Honour Society would once again appreciate any assistance that you may be able to give be it donating time to collect, shedding a few ounces of hair, or just supporting the cause on the day.

If you would like to be involved in this, either shave or dye please contact us and we will happy to assist in making it happen for you.

We have our very own student Rosemary Kunde, featured recently in 'The Morning Bulletin' who will be giving up her long hair for the cause. If you would like to pledge to shave a beard, your hairy legs or colour your beard ! this is also acceptable.

PhotoID:1840 This years’ event is being held in the Commercial Centre grounds and Rhonda from Creative Image Hair studio will be performing the honours at a lunch time event on Friday, March 18, at 12:30pm. So go on, be daring ! and be involved in the World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure ! If you would like to help coordinate this in your Faculty / School please contact either of the following people.
