Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

New Buildings & Grounds Director named 

Phil Hancock will commence as Director, Buildings and Grounds on Monday. Phil was a Facilities Manager with Resolve Engineering (NSW) and most recently has worked as Manager, Facilities Management with Optus where he was responsible for all Optus facilities in Australia and New Zealand.

He has a Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Science) and a Marine Engineering Technicians Advanced Certificate. In her announcement Thursday, Vice Chancellor Glenice Hancock thanked Clive Pritchard, Mike Beck and the rest of the B&G team for all they have done since Hec Garrick's departure. “Most recently, the Multicultural Fair is another example of the way the Division work as a team to ensure the success of such events,” Professor Hancock said.
