CQU Melbourne celebrated the Autumn Moon Festival on Tuesday, September 25.

Students and staff shared the traditional moon cakes and tea in the Student Lounge.

A friendly table tennis tournament was also held, with the participation of eager students and staff.

The winner of the tournament was lecturer David Qian, who relinquished his prize to the runner-up Ashish Bhusal ( Bachelor of Accounting).

This Festival is the most important date in the second half of the lunar year and has been celebrated for 5000 years.

It draws in audiences from all Asian backgrounds. It is celebrated by Chinese, Vietnamese, Thais, Laotians, Cambodians, Koreans, Japanese, Indonesians, Malaysians and Singaporeans.

Nowadays, the Moon Festival is a big holiday with family reunions, moon-gazing activities and feasting on moon cakes.

This celebration enriched the already vibrant cross-cultural environment that exists at CQU Melbourne.
