Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Uni staff feature in photo and video competitions 

Congratulations to IT analyst Troy Simpson and video producer Peter Lawrence, both staff members at Rockhampton Campus, who have placed in the latest Sister City Snapshots Photograph Competition.

Troy gained first place for Helen Celebrating Christmas Holidays and a Successful Return to Shore with Uncle Mick while Peter gained third in the competition with an entry titled Annie.

The annual Snapshots competition is conducted by Rockhampton Regional Council. Details are available By CLICKING HERE  or you can Click here to view the Sister City Snapshots 2010 Photo Exhibition.

Meanwhile, Peter followed up with a second place in the Gladstone EcoFest Green Scenes video competition with a video featuring music by Steve Butler from Academic Learning Services.

Peter has previously gained prizes in both competitions, as well as in Rockhampton's Fringe Film competition.
