A range of supports for diverse student pathways

Central Queensland University students have a diverse range of pathways through their education, so it is fitting that there are a diverse range of scholarships available to them.   To help match applicant to scholarship, the University has now established a focal point for details on these opportunities.   Students and potential students interested in the supports available can now visit: http://content.cqu.edu.au/Core/scholarship.do to get an overview of opportunities and the time frames for applications.   The recently-released 2008 edition of the Good Universities Guide cites CQU as among those Queensland universities with top, 5-star ratings in the new category of 'access by equity groups', providing "excellent access to higher education, well above the national average, for disadvantaged students in regional Queensland".   It's worthwhile for students to get a helping hand on the way through their studies because they can look forward to even more positive experiences after graduation.   The Guide states that CQU has maintained its top, 5-star national ratings for 'positive graduate outcomes' and 'graduate starting salary'.   CQU also gained 4-star, above-average, ratings for teaching quality and 'getting a job'.   As in previous years, The Guide sums up CQU as an "exceptionally diverse, not to mention vast institution ... it is less complacement, more energetic, more flexible and more welcoming than many".   CQU graduates had earlier achieved excellent outcomes in the 2006 Australian Graduates Survey (AGS), released in July by Graduate Careers Australia, exceeding Queensland and national averages for job success and salaries.

90.3% of CQU graduates are in full-time work within 4 months of completing their degrees, well above the national 82.45 rate, according to the survey.

The survey also shows that CQU graduates' comparable median annual salary was $43,000, compared with the overall national and state median annual salary of $42,000.

CQU offers a comprehensive range of degrees and potential applicants can find out about study areas available and the services to support students at CQU by visiting: http://webkiosk.cqu.edu.au/
