Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Cap Coast Art Festival again sponsored by CQU 

The Capricorn Coast Arts Festival is once again sponsored by CQU, with the University's $1000 acquistive award earmarked for the best 'Flora and Fauna' entry.

The Festival is due to be launched on Friday, May 2, and the Exhibition will continue at Yeppoon Town Hall until May 11, with viewing from 9am to 5pm each day after the launch.

Judge Maureen Hansen is curator-coordinator of the Wesley Healing Arts Program and a professional artist, whose work is held in various public, corporate and private collections.

First held at Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast in 1997, the Capricorn Coast Art Festival has continued to grow and attract major sponsors.

As it enters its 12th year it is one of the most significant art festivals in regional Queensland and has national recognition. The competition prize money totals $20,000 across 13 categories.
