To allow for building maintenance and a major service of the air-conditioning plant which involves some asbestos removal, CQUniLibrary  in Rockhampton (Bruce Hiskins Building) will be closed from January 2 next year until about February 16.

This will follow the University Christmas closure from December 25 to January 1 inclusive.

During this period, staff will be relocated to other areas of the Rockhampton Campus and will provide a limited library service.

Professional assistance will be available and there will be a service point offering the usual library services available at the Information Desk e.g. book returns, collecting holds.

The Library's 1300 phone service will operate and enquiries can still be emailed to cqulibrary@cqu.edu.au .

Rockhampton campus students and flex students are encouraged to borrow material prior to the Christmas closure as the majority of our book and journal collection will be unavailable after this time.

Whilst measures are being put in place to ensure clients are inconvenienced as little as possible, the following services will be unavailable at the temporary library location:

  • access to physical collections
  • printing and photocopying
  • adding credit to print accounts
  • receipting of payments
  • computer and microfilm reader acces
  • ITD helpdesk assistance

Clients requiring access to computers should use the 24-hour computer labs located in Buildings 6, 9, 12 and 19.   Access to these labs requires a door code which is available from the ITD Helpdesk.   They can be contacted  emailing helpdesk@cqu.edu.au or by phoning 1300 666 620.   Credit can be added to print accounts using the eftpos facility in the labs.   For further updates, please check the library webpage.
