Con Students Rock to Get 'Chess' Rolling

Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music students will form a rock band to ensure a live sound for their first big production of 2002 - Chess the Concert.
Musical director Judith Brown said students enrolled in the contemporary strand of the Bachelor of Music/Performing Arts course will perform the rock-based accompaniment to the show, with all Music Theatre students involved in the performance.
"The five-piece rock ensemble will add a real depth and colour the score, which features hits such as 'One Night In Bangkok' and 'I Know Him So Well'," she said.
Chess the Concert will be staged at the CQCM Theatre on Friday, April 19, at 8pm and on Saturday, April 20, at 1pm and 8pm. Bookings are via CQCM on 4940 7800.
Chess the Concert is performed by special arrangement with Dominie Pty Ltd. Music is by Benny Anderson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, with lyrics by Tim Rice. It is based on an idea by Tim Rice.
The Director will be Garrick Jones and musical directors will be Judith Brown and Regis Danillon.
