Microsoft job beckons for CQU Sydney student

If you are hoping for a position at a prestigious company, follow postgraduate student Srinath’s lead.

While completing his Graduate Diploma in Management at CQU Sydney, Srinath Reddy Kottam saw an on-line advertisement for an Assistant Network Engineer with the Microsoft Corporation at their headquarters in California.

PhotoID:2211 He had applied for other positions at other computer companies as well, but this was the job he was determined to get. His patience and hard work finally paid off when he was contacted for his first telephone interview.

This interview lasted over an hour and was aimed at testing his knowledge he gained in his Masters Degree in Computing and his other studies.

All went well and he was told that he had been selected for a second telephone interview, this time with H.R. Again he impressed the panel and was invited to start his 6-month apprenticeship in Atlanta before heading off to Silicon Valley.

Srinath is now waiting for his ‘Green Card’ to work in the US. He expects to start his new life in October this year.

“My family is so excited. I was hoping to get home to see them before I go to America, but I won’t have time. But that’s okay. My brother and his family are already in the States and I will have a chance to see them.

“I really want to thank the Faculty of Business & Law and Client Services at CQU SIC for all the help and support they have given me to take advantage of this opportunity.”
