Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

'SET' ready to go at CQU 

CQU's 'Your Future is SET' project will excite secondary school students about careers in science, engineering and technology during National Science Week (August 16-24).

Led by Shuron Billman at Informatics & Communication, the project also includes input from Engineering & Physical Systems; Arts, Health & Sciences; and Business & Law .

It will generate events at Rockhampton, Gladstone, Bundaberg and Mackay, thanks to $12,000 funding from the federal Department of Science, Engineering and Training (DEST).
