Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Central Qld Conservatorium Band Stars with Morrison and Burrows in Sydney

The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music Jazz Orchestra will be in the national spotlight for a month due to gigs with Australia's best know jazz artists.

Next Monday (June 10), ConJazz will appear with Australia's best known jazz stars James Morrison, Don Burrows and Don Rader for a featured gig at the Sydney Jazz Festival at Darling Harbour.

Only a few weeks later, ConJazz will embark on a Don Burrows Tribute tour set to include free performances in Mackay (June 30), Rockhampton (July 3), Gladstone (July 4), Bundaberg (July 5) and Noosa (July 6).

The tribute tour will be presented and promoted via ABC Local Radio.
