Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

WaterEd consortium launch scheduled 

CQU has become an equal member in a consortium known as the International Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Management (ICE WaRM), trading as WaterEd Australia.

The official commencement ceremony for WaterEd Australia/ICE WaRM is scheduled for 4.30pm on August 2 at Henry's Brasserie in Adelaide.

ICE WaRM's international mission is to provide a highly visible gateway to Australia's collective expertise and support in water resources management, education, training, research and consulting.

Nationally, the Centre will provide leadership, integration, co-ordination and promotion of Australia's education, training and research centres (and with industry).
