Health students wear fancy dress for assessments

Cross-dressing and body up-sizing proved popular when Central Queensland University Mackay health students recently conducted mock client health assessments.
Flaunting their frocks, loud shirts, walking canes and hats the first year students were extremely enthusiastic about making the medical interviews appear as realistic as possible according to Nursing and Health Studies lecturer Judi Parson . \"Just when everyone is feeling flat at the end of semester, we decided to have a bit of fun by dressing-up for the roles,\" she said.
\"The students are developing their interview skills as they need to realise the diversity and needs of different people.\" Interview questions related to the patient\'s medical history and included details about allergies, dietary habits, drug dependency, exercise routines and rest patterns.
