Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Winter Arts School fun for everyone 

It’s been a busy week for those involved in the Gladstone 'Education Week' Arts Festival.

Bachelor of Learning Management staff and students have been involved in a range of activities throughout the week including staff development workshops, a Festival dinner and the CQU Winter Arts School.

PhotoID:3049 Senior high school students and members of the art community have been enjoying the Arts School.

Students participating in a film workshop have been working with Earth Based Productions creative director, James Muller, to create a music video for a local high school band.

Film workshop participant, Erica Flude said she had really enjoyed the first day and felt she was lucky to have been selected to attend.

“I’ve really learnt a lot about film production and I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and seeing the finished product,” said Ms Flude.

PhotoID:3050 Figure drawing and performance arts workshops will also be running over the two days with final presentations occurring on Friday afternoon for parents, friends and teachers.
