School saturated by more than 100 science teachers
Published on 04 May, 2005
More than 100 pre-service teachers taught science at Frenchville State School last week.
The CQU Bachelor of Learning Management students focused on the idea of energy for students from Years One to Six.
Students investigated wind, solar, heat and sound energy.
Some Year Ones made wind dancers to use the energy of wind, while Year Five students used solar ovens to consider just how solar energy works.
Other students investigated vibrations in musical instruments and can and string telephones.
Visiting academic, Dr Andrea Mueller, from Kingston in Canada, observed this partnership in action as part of her research into methods of inculcating student teachers into the exciting world of science teaching.
