Auditions and initial rehearsals for 'A Chorus Line'

CQU performing arts students will this week undergo auditions and initial rehearsals for 'A Chorus Line', the Broadway musical due to be staged at Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre (October 13-14).

PhotoID:2886 Auditions and rehearsals will be staged in the Creative Arts Precinct by visiting music theatre industry mentors Wayne Scott Kermond (of 'Singin' in the Rain' and 'A Chorus Line' fame) and Katie Kermond (of 'Chicago-the Musical' and 'Grease' fame).

Details on Wayne and Katie are at: http://www.excitingentertainment.com.au/aboutus.html .

'A Chorus Line' is a musical-verite about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. It tells of the poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration.

Memorable musical numbers include 'I Can Do That', 'At the Ballet', 'Dance: Ten'; 'Looks: Three', 'The Music and the Mirror', 'What I Did for Love', 'One (Singular Sensation)' and 'I Hope I Get It'. It is a complex fusion of dance, song and drama.
