Kevin gains work experience at CQU

Tannum Sands State High School student, Kevin Hodgkinson completed a week of work experience at Central Queensland University’s Gladstone campus last week.

PhotoID:1613 Kevin, who is in year 11, was participating in his school’s vocationally-oriented subject which allows the students to complete a week of work placement.

Kevin spent time learning administration procedures such as petty cash and banking procedures and was required to use office computer programs such as e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets and database.

“I’ve enjoyed my time here and have learnt a lot, but I’m still not sure what I want to do when I leave high school,” said Kevin.

Executive Assistant and Campus Administration Officer, Sue Oakey said CQU liked to participate in work experience programs such as this one as it allowed the university to give something back to the community.

“Kevin worked very hard while he was here and we wish him the very best in his future career,” said Mrs Oakey.

Kevin will also complete a week of work experience at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre later in the year.
