This award acknowledges Associate Professor Kerry Reid-Searl for the innovative creation of MASK-ED, which masks and transforms the educator into characters who become a platform for teaching, in an undergraduate nursing program.

Associate Professor Reid-Searl has demonstrated her commitment to her students by developing a system of teaching that incorporates simulation of real-world events in a practical learning environment.

The MASK-ED simulation technique is a very innovative and exciting teaching technique, where the educator's experience in the discipline is used as a platform from which they, masked as true-to-life characters, teach as they are treated by students in a classroom laboratory environment.

Kerry's approach maximises learning outcomes by engaging, inspiring and motivating students and provides them with a positive and practical learning experience in the undergraduate Nursing program at CQUniversity.

Associate Professor Reid-Searl is highly regarded by her students, within the local community, national industry and the Higher Education sector and displays a profound professional and personal commitment to excellence in learning and teaching at CQUniversity Australia.
