Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

'Influences on well-being' study now a published book 

A CQUniversity academic's PhD dissertation on the 'influences of gender and childhood trauma experiences on adult illness' has been turned into a published book available for purchase through Amazon.com .

The publication is entitled Gender role schema, childhood trauma, and well-being in adulthood: A positive psychological perspective.

Dr Suzanne Coker, who now supervises fourth-year thesis students for our Department of Behavioural and Social Sciences, was approached by a German publisher, VDM Verlag, to make her findings available further afield.

"My analysis should interest professionals and academics in the social sciences, and those interested in the statistical method of hierarchical structural equation modelling," Dr Coker said.
