Nambour's Shayna 'Schot' into teaching at Eumundi

Shayna Schot from Nambour (pictured) is one of the faces you’ll see in the Press and on Television, promoting Central Queensland University Noosa Hub’s Bachelor of Learning Management degree.

PhotoID:1558 Settling in this year to her teaching role at Eumundi State School, Shayna represents another success story for the BLM.

A partnership between CQU Noosa and Education Queensland, the program was designed to concentrate on linking practical in-school training to theoretical studies. Students actually spend time in front of the class from week 1. By their final term they are flying solo; all this under the watchful eye of their mentor, a teacher specially trained to supervise and guide the student. It’s just like having your own personal trainer.

Evidence of the success the students have achieved is their high job offer rate, with many being offered positions at their ‘prac’ schools. With places available for 2005 and the extension next year to include secondary education, it is hoped that the image Shayna projects will encourage more Year 12 students to consider the three-year accelerated Bachelor of Learning Management degree.
