Bob Blair - Honorary Master of Business Administration

Bob Blair's name and face are well known in Central Queensland and beyond as the driving force behind Rockhampton's Dreamtime Cultural Centre for the past few decades.

Leaving school at the age of 14 to undertake a series of menial jobs, Bob joined the Australian Army in 1961, taking full advantage of the training opportunities offered to him during his 23 years of service and finishing with the highest rank available to him, that of Regimental Sergeant Major.

Bob's outstanding leadership and management skills have been well used by him as the Centre's Manager, with the Centre expanding to incorporate a museum, conference centre, and on-site motel, as well as providing a training centre for Indigenous people in the areas of tourism, hospitality, and trade work.

A proud, but unassuming person of Aboriginal descent, Bob is an outstanding example of a successful Indigenous business leader and his skills have been recognised with a number of government board appointments including service as a Board Director of the Australian Government's Indigenous Business Australia.

We recognise Bob's outstanding achievements and contributions to the Australian business and Aboriginal communities.
