Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Swedish visitor knows learning can be a drama 

CQU Rockhampton has hosted one of Sweden’s leading exponents of the use of drama in education and management.

PhotoID:2269 Dr Margaret Lepp, a senior lecturer and international student coordinator from Boras University, provided a half-day workshop on ‘Drama as a Teaching Methodology’ while at CQU Rockhampton on August 3-4.

The visitor has studied the use of drama for conflict resolution, for reflective learning in education, for personal development and for dementia patients and their caregivers.
