Siblings see CQU as safe bet for career success

Heidi Erbs and her brothers Haydn and Jarrod are at various stages of their relationship with CQU, and all are encouraged by their options for career progression.

Heidi is impressed that her track record in the Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety and a letter inviting her to apply for an OHS honours year (subject to completion of her first degree) were enough to secure a position as safety officer with global verification, testing and certification company SGS (she started in November).

Heidi originally chose CQU based on recommendations frrom her brother Haydn, who studied externally for his double degree in Accounting and Marketing Management. Haydn now lives in Tweed Heads and works for a large accounting firm called PKF while continuing his study in chartered accountancy.

More recently, her brother Jarrod has decided to enroll in the OHS Graduate Diploma program at CQU, to further his career as a Fisheries Department safety officer in the Whitsundays. He starts in January.

Heidi, a former Melbourne girl now living in Perth, has contacted OHS senior lecturer Yvonne Toft to thank her for support and guidance during her undergraduate studies at CQU.

"This past year of study has really made a difference to how I view the world," she said.
