Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Annual Night of the Proms Booking Fast

Rockhampton’s Night of the Proms has grown in reputation to the point that dozens of people requested tickets before they became available.

Tickets are now on sale and selling fast for the fourth annual event at the Pilbeam Theatre, from 7pm on Sunday, August 31.

Featuring a community orchestra and community choir, the event will once again be led by choral expert Christopher Kiver, who is traveling especially from his new home in the USA.

Night of the Proms is coordinated by CQU’s Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

Guest soloists will include Brisbane soprano Louise Kennedy, Dimitri Kopanakis, Linda Coombes, Meghan Tait and Lachlan Scheuber. ENDS For details call Michelle Ilott on 0418 758 624
