Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Faculty hosts international management conference 

CQU's Faculty of Business & Informatics is hosting the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Management 2006 Conference, due to be held at Rydges Capricorn Resort from December 6-9 (with doctoral workshops on December 5-6).

The keynote speakers are Dr Jerald Greenberg from Ohio State University (known worldwide for his pioneering research on organisational justice) and Dr Bruce J. Avolio from the University of Nebraska (who has an international reputation as a researcher and practitioner in leadership).

Conference project officer Sue Woodfield is keen to hear from anyone interested in having a stall at an arts and crafts market during the event.

The theme of the conference is: 'Management: Pragmatism, Philosophy, Priorities'.
