Golden Key chapter gains gold standing

The CQU Chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society has been awarded the chapter standing of Gold for the 2006 Academic year.

This achievement was announced at the 2007 Golden Key International Honour Society Asia-Pacific Conference, which was held from February 8-10 at the Gold Coast.

PhotoID:3743 Chapter president Constance (Connie) Moore had what she describes as \"the remarkable opportunity of holding one of only a few positions on the Golden Key Conference’s Steering Committee\".

\"The Conference has been hailed as a huge success,\" Ms Moore said.

\"I had the immense pleasure of MCing the awards luncheon at the conference, at which each Golden Key Chapter within the Asia-Pacific region was recognised for its standing status within the Society - with Gold being the highest of five levels.

\"It is with much work and persistence, however, that the CQU Chapter has been recognised as a Gold Standing Chapter within one of the world’s largest Honour Societies.

\"In achieving the status of Gold, I would like to firstly thank Vice-Chancellor Professor Rickard for his ongoing support of Golden Key at CQU.

\"Thank-you to Mary McKavanagh and CQU Student Services for their encouragement and access of resources for Chapter events.

\"A big thanks to our CQU Golden Key Chapter Advisors, Robyn Bailey and James Lowe for their guidance, advice and friendship to the Chapter’s Executive Committee.

\"A huge thank-you must also go to CQU’s Michael Donahue for his assistance with CQU sponsoring the bags for the 2007 Asia-Pacific Conference - 200 Golden Key delegates utilised these bags during all of Conference and walked the Gold Coast strip with them flung over their shoulders.
