Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Sports series to kick off 

The School of Health & Human Performance will next week kick off a series of monthly presentations designed to expose the latest information on sports performance.

The 2006 Sports Science Series will be of interest to teachers, coaches, parents, athletes, trainers and sportspeople.

The first monthly speaker is Associate Professor Peter Reaburn who will be presenting on "Warm Up and Post Game Recovery Techniques".

The April Sports Science Series will be held on Wednesday April 26 2006 at 7pm in the Nursing Building (18) at Central Queensland University Rockhampton.

Future topics will include sports science, sports nutrition, management and injury prevention, special populations, ergogenic aids, nutritional supplementation and training for endurance, speed and power.
