CQUniversity was recently the joint organiser and a major sponsor for the International Engineering and Technology Education Conference (IETEC), held at Taylor's University in Kuala Lumpur during January...
The 130 academics and experts who attended from 25 different countries contributed 75 papers across 16 plenary presentation sessions, including a special Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate presentation session from CDIO experts.
Conference general chair Dr Arun Patil, from CQUniversity, addresses the delegates
Conference general chair Dr Arun Patil, from CQUniversity, said the event was "truly international" because it was jointly organised by Australia's CQUniversity in conjunction with Taylor's University Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (Malaysia (UTHM).
Dr Patil said the event featured four interactive pre-conference workshops, facilitated by international experts.
Conference banquet highlights included a launch for the inaugural issue of the International Journal of Quality Assurance in Engineering and Technology Education (IJQAETE), for which Dr Patil was Editor-in-Chief. The banquet was also the venue for the launch of an academic book by a staff member from UTM.
During the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between CQUniversity (represented by Engineering Dean, Associate Professor Alan McPhail) and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania (represented by the Rector, Professor Constantin Oprean).
