Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU researchers urged to nominate for PM's awards 

The Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) is seeking nominations from Central Queensland University for the 2007 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science, Australia’s most prestigious science awards.

The Prime Minister’s Prize for Science, Science Minister’s Prize for Life Scientist of the Year and the Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year are awarded to those who have made outstanding contributions to science and who are currently active in research.

Previous recipients of the Prime Minister’s Prize for Science include Dr Jim Peacock and Dr Liz Dennis, Professor Don Metcalf, Professor Frank Fenner, Professor Jacques Miller, Emeritus Professor Graeme Clark, Professor David Boger and Professor Mandyam Srinivasan.

The Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science aim to recognise our scientists and their achievements and to acknowledge their scientific excellence to the nation.
