Chips, chocolate and soft drinks raised $600 for the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Society.
Central Queensland University’s Division of Teaching and Learning Services donated the money to the group at an official presentation this week.
The division will also be donating gifts to the Kmart Wishing Tree for the Needy.
Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Society Central Queensland president Jenny Hilcher said it was wonderful the group had raised the money off their own backs.
Ms Hilcher delivered a grateful and sometimes emotional vote of thanks to the division.
“I just think it’s excellent they’ve taken the initiative to do this. Sometimes it takes the diagnosis of a child to get things moving.”
