Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQUniversity's School of Nursing and Midwifery this week hosted the Acting Executive Director of Nursing for the Central Queensland Health Service District, Simon Mitchell. He discussed human resource management issues facing health care organisations and the nursing and midwifery professions.

The presentation was a part of the Master of Midwifery Residential School program and was attended by Midwifery students from Brisbane and Sunshine Coast plus CQUniversity academics.  

The Midwifery Residential School is run over 1 week and combines a series of lectures provided by academics and industry leaders.
