Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Plant Sciences reps become ambassadors for CQU in Pakistan 

Sohail Qureshi and Shamsa Syeda of CQU’s Plant Sciences Group became ambassadors for CQU during a recent visit to Pakistan.

PhotoID:2962 During their visit they introduced CQU to officials from 15 different departments and ministries and discussed the prospects and opportunities of higher education and research at CQU.

The Government of Pakistan plans to provide 5000 postgraduate scholarships to their citizens for higher education during the next 5 years.

The visit has played a vital role in attracting higher education candidates from Pakistan to Australia especially at CQU.

The ambassadors visited key organistions in the capital Islamabad as well as Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi.
