Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Staff 'orange' a lunch to celebrate diversity at work 

Staff from the Office of Development and Graduate Relations were among those who arranged special campus luncheons to celebrate diversity at work, via the 'Taste of Harmony' initiative.

This is a key event in the lead-up to Harmony Day on March 21.

A public Harmony Day event will be held in Rockhampton (from Noon-4.30pm) at Victoria Park on Sunday, March 22. Yeppoon will conduct its Harmony Day celebration tomorrow (March 20), from 9.30am-11.30am at the Community Development Centre  in John Street.
