Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Litster on the road again as tourism judge

Despite being on secondment to the Division of Teaching and Learning Services, Jillian Litster has arranged to continue her commitment to the Queensland Tourism Awards on behalf of the Faculty of Business & Law.

In addition to tourism industry workshops in the Whitsundays and Rockhampton conducted during May, Jillian will also undertake site inspections and two weeks of panel judging as part of the awards process.

She is judging properties in the Townsville, Tropical North Queensland, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast regions.

"I have just returned from my first week away conducting the site inspections to the north and head off again in August, this time heading south," she said.
