Language Centre newcomer keen to expand client base:

New CQU Language Centre Acting Director of Studies Paulo Vieira is keen to build a client base, and he is not restricting his scope to tertiary students or even to the building on campus.

PhotoID:42 Mr Vieira is looking for opportunities to deliver language centre services throughout the region, and believes the global language/tourism market is a relatively untapped market for this region.

Mr Vieira has had extensive experience in the ELICOS (English Language for Overseas Students) sector, both in teaching (specialities in Business English, English for Hospitality, Graphic Arts and specialist Management courses) and in marketing as the former Latin American marketing representative for a well known private college in Sydney. He has also spent time in the corporate world, the political world and run a small private business of his own.

'I believe there is tremendous potential for Central Queensland in the provision of English language services and cultural exchange,' Paulo has said. ' With the right approach, there is every reason to be very optimistic about attracting students to our unique & wonderful region'.

CQU Language Centre is now part of the Faculty of Education and Creative Arts at CQU.
