Club nets extra gear

The CQUniverstiy International Soccer Club is celebrating the arrival of some new equipment to help kick start training.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Scott Bowman was happy to have a kick with some of the club members as they tried out the 5-a-side goals, new soccer balls and players bibs.

The aim of the club is to have fun, meet fellow international student and locals and get fit at the same time.

The International Soccer Club has 30 members from a variety of countries - including Cameroon, Nigeria, Malaysia, India and of course Australia.

The club is open to Women and Men from all countries but it's also still looking for players from South America to add a spice of "Joga Bonito" (Play Beautifully) to future games.

Weekly social games are held on the Rockhampton playing fields on Friday and Saturdays from 4:30pm. The club is also taking names for a 5-a-side competition commencing in August 2010.

The sign on fee is a modest $5 per year, payable to the student association and for more information please contact Roger Hunt on 0407027859.
