The CQU-based International Program of Psycho-Social Health Research (IPP-SHR) has been awarded a 2007 Endeavour India Research Fellowship by the Commonwealth Department of Science, Education and Training.
This prestigious and highly competitive fellowship was awarded in recognition of the strong research collaboration that IPP-SHR has forged with the Regional Cancer Centre, Trivandrum, India.
The award, granted under the Endeavour Program, is aimed at promoting enduring research and academic linkages between Australia and India.
According to IPP-SHR researcher, Dr Pam McGrath (pictured), “this award acknowledges IPP-SHR’s position as a truly international research program”.
The fellowship provides funding for IPP-SHR to further the collaborative research projects that it has established in India.
These projects include a qualitative evaluation of at-home palliative care provision, and a study aimed at utilising community management committees for health promotion purposes.
IPP-SHR is working with the School of Nursing and Health Studies to further the India Research Collaboration.
