Uni takes account of Suellen Ohl's record

CQU has conferred the degree of Honorary Doctor of the University, the University’s highest award for recognition of service, on Suellen Ohl.

PhotoID:1836 Ms Ohl graduated from our predecessor institution, the Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education, with a Bachelor of Business Degree in 1976.

She subsequently became a Certified Practising Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, and Chartered Accountant.

Immediately following graduation, she was employed by the accounting firm of Kennas, becoming a partner of the firm in 1994. She has gained extensive industry experience in all aspects of public accounting over the past 27 years.

It is that experience that the University has drawn on heavily in its governance. Ms Ohl was a member of the Council of the University from 1995 to 2004 and had very senior roles in that time as Deputy Chancellor, Chair of the Property and Finance Committee, member of the Audit Committee and of Council’s Executive Committee. Ms Ohl gave unstintingly of her time and expertise during a period of dramatic growth and change in the University and for that the University is very grateful.
