Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

CQU Rockhampton Cup on Wheels to host Olympic champions

It’s official - Dual 2004 Olympic Gold Medallist Ryan Bayley will ride the 2005 Central Queensland University Rockhampton Cup on Wheels.

Australian’s best women cyclists will also be gracing the Cup, with cycling sisters Anna and Kerrie Meares returning to their stomping grounds in a bid to take out the prestigious Herron Todd White Capricornia Cup, now the richest women\'s wheelrace in Australia with $3750 in total prizemoney.

Between them, Anna and Kerrie have won the Herron Todd White Capricornia Cup five times, Anna once and Kerrie (the reigning champion) four times.

The Central Queensland University Rockhampton Cup on Wheels runs over two huge days, Friday and Saturday, January 14-15, 2005. There will be $20 000 in prize money up for grabs, not to mention the hottest men\'s and women\'s line-ups ever seen in Central Queensland.
