From this Thursday November 17 through to Saturday November 19, members of the public can see CQU @ Caneland Central.

Central Queensland University Mackay will be operating an information booth over the 3-day period to give interested people the opportunity to investigate study options at Mackay Campus.

PhotoID:2521 “You don’t have to be a school leaver to enrol for study at university,” said CQU Community Relations Officer, Natalie Arthur.

“CQU has a number of bridging and access programs for non-school leavers and mature-age students which are designed to help you gain the knowledge, skills and confidence you’ll need to succeed. These programs include Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS) and Women into Science and Technology (WIST).\".

“We also have information available about various scholarships on offer,” said Natalie.

For school leavers who are awaiting the results of their exams, it’s not too late to change your preferences.

“Perhaps you’ve decided on a different career, perhaps you want better employment prospects or your circumstances have changed,” said Natalie. “Whatever the reason, CQU can help you get into the course that is right for you.\".

The CQU Information Booth will be located near the entrance to Big W and CQU staff members from various faculties will be available to answer questions across the 3-day period.

Phillip Clift, Head of Mackay Campus said, “I would like to encourage anyone who has considered study in the past, or who is looking for a change in career, to visit CQU at Caneland Central and discuss the options available.”.

CQU offers a broad range of programs in Education, Nursing, Creative & Performing Arts, Sciences, Business and Information Technology.
