Budding computer whizzes are set to take part in a five-day residential program at Central Queensland University Mackay campus.
Year 11 students interested in studying information technology related university programs will explore what CQU has to offer.
Do IT@ CQU co-ordinator Olive Mallory said 15 students would attend simulated lectures, tutorials and perform mini tasks from December 2-6.
“This program gives students a realistic and valuable insight into the demands of tertiary study, the content of courses and information about possible IT career paths,” she said.
After completing various campus activities, the students will stay at the university’s Residential College, with celebrity guest speakers visiting each evening.
The university is providing complimentary travel, accommodation and meals.
