Bundaberg Campus to the fore during flood

CQUniversity Bundaberg has helped relieve some of the burden during this summer's record floods.

With its own premises flooded, the Bundaberg News-Mail is using the campus computer labs to sustain its newspaper operations.

Bundaberg Regional Council has been using science labs for water quality testing and the campus kitchens have been made available to the Salvation Army as an option for food preparation for local evacuation centres.

Local education students have been encouraged to provide activities for the children of families sheltering at evacuation centres. Arrangements are being made so stranded children can use campus lecture halls to watch DVDs while they wait to return home.

It was only two years ago that the Rockhampton and Emerald campuses served as evacuation and relief centres for summer floods.
