Engaging Indigenous people within Higher Ed

CQUniversity's Office of Indigenous Engagement recently hosted a visit from the Oodgeroo Unit of Queensland University of Technology (QUT), at Rockhampton Campus.

Professor Anita Lee Hong, Director of the Oodgeroo Unit, and Lone Pearce, Project Officer, met with Office of Indigenous Engagement staff to discuss employment issues and best practice models for engaging Indigenous people within the higher education sector, including governance matters.

Ever thought of a career in the aviation industry, but didn’t know how to make it a reality?.

Central Queensland University offers a “first-class” program in aviation technology which is paving the way for aviation enthusiasts to begin a career in the industry every year.

CQU’s Bachelor of Aviation Technology, offered through CQU Bundaberg and also via distance education, is designed for those seeking a career in aviation, aerospace and information technology.

Students will gain a thorough understanding of both theories and practices in aviation technology and explore the associated ethical, legal and security issues.

They will gain high-level expertise in information technology and business management, and will develop skills needed to analyse problems critically and design effective solutions.

Graduates are employed in non-flying positions within the aviation, aerospace or information technology industries at both operational and management levels.

CQU’s Bachelor of Aviation Technology is a three-year full-time degree or 6-year part-time degree.
